Recurrent cystitis – a new bladder lining can reduce infections

November 29, 2018

Recurrent urine infections are far more common in women than men.  Recurrent urine infections can affect women of all ages.  Risk factors include sexual intercourse, the menopause and bladder emptying problems.  Recurrent cystitis can have a significant impact on a woman’s quality of life, self esteem and their relationship with their partner.

There are many new ways to treat recurrent urine infections that do not involve antibiotics.  Replenishing the bladder lining reduces infections.  Professor Phillips recently published his research demonstrating the benefits of this treatment for recurrent urinary tract infections and the effects on women’s quality of life and sexual function.

At the Candover Clinic, Professor Christian Phillips, Consultant Gynaecologist and Urogynaecologist specialises in assessing and treating women with recurrent cystitis. Call 01256 315010 to book an appointment.
