Introducing Dr Laura Corsinovi, Consultant Cardiologist

Dr Corsinovi graduated with honours in 2001 in Medicine (Genoa, Italy). She had her medical training both in Italy and in the UK.  She became Consultant in Geriatrics and General Medicine in 2005 (Turin, Italy). She completed a PhD (Higher Medical Research Degree) in clinical Sciences In 2008. She became Consultant Cardiologist in 2015. She has gained broad medical knowledge working for many years in University Hospitals in Turin, in Italy and in the UK.

Dr Corsinovi specialises in advanced echocardiography, stress echocardiogram, trans-oesophageal echocardiogram, magnetic cardiac resonance and in cardiac CT. She holds several international certifications in these areas (European Society of Cardiology Certification for transthoracic echocardiogram and transoesophageal echocardiogram, Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance for cardiac MRI, Society of Cardiovascular CT for CTCA). She has published several articles in international peer reviewed journals.

Dr Corsinovi arrived in the United Kingdom in 2014 to work at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital and she has never left the UK as she has found in Britain a perfect environment where to work and live.

Since 2016 Dr Corsinovi has been working as a Locum Consultant and after as permanent Consultant Cardiologist at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. She works in close collaboration with the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. She recently became the lead for Clinical effectiveness in Cardiology at HHFT.

Dr Corsinovi is a Consultant in all aspect of general cardiology:

• Valvular heart disease

• Cardiomyopathies

• Coronary artery disease

• Cardiac Imaging; echocardiogram; stress echocardiogram with Dobutamine or exercise; MRI; stress MRI; transoesophageal echocardiogram; cardiac CT

• Heart failure

• General medicine and geriatrics
