Coronavirus Update – Outpatient Appointments and Inpatient Admissions
March 27, 2020
Candover Clinic is now closed to all patients that do not require urgent care. If your care is urgent please contact your Consultant for advice. Some Consultants are now beginning to offer phone and video consultations where appropriate. Please bear in mind that most consultants are heavily involved in the NHS effort to combat Coronavirus, but please contact your consultant if a remote consultation is of interest.
At Candover Clinic we are very keen to help facilitate remote consultations and enable you to be in touch with the appropriate medical professionals. Private Health Insurers are now generally pre-authorising tele/video consultations. Approval will be needed prior to all remote consultations. We also have the capability for consultants to order any urgent diagnostics remotely.
These measures are in line with the broader Trust policy. From Monday all outpatient appointments Trust-wide for both NHS and Private Patients will be conducted by phone unless there is a clear clinical need. NHS patients will be contacted directly. If you are not contacted, your NHS appointment will be by phone. In addition, some non-urgent NHS appointments may be delayed or cancelled. Please do not attempt to attend your appointment in person unless confirmed by a Consultant or their secretary.
At present when contacting Candover Clinic please allow one working day for us to respond to your enquiry. If your enquiry requires an urgent response please contact our enquiry team on 01256 315050.
