Dr Kamran Ala

Dr Kamran Ala is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician. He qualified from University College London Medical School in 2011 with an honours degree in Medicine and an honours degree in Physiology. He received a certificate of merit for his MBBS finals.

He completed his postgraduate general medical training on the North central Thames London and Wessex rotations with his higher gastroenterology training being undertaken on the Wessex rotation and latterly at King’s Liver institute, London.

During his specialist training, he developed an interest in the management of complex liver disease including transplantation, gallstone disease, therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy including ERCP. He has an interest in the management of Obesity and Obesity related liver disease.

In 2020 Dr Ala was appointed as an NHS consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust HHFT, working on the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital site.

He is proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy including polypectomy, ERCP and cancer surveillance.

Dr Ala is an enthusiastic Consultant who specialises in patients with Liver disease including transplantation, management of gallstones, therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy including ERCP, pancreatic medicine & general Gastroenterology.
