Contact UsDr Mutamba trained in the UK, culminating in doing a fellowship in Oculoplastics Surgery and one in glaucoma surgery. He did most of his training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, City Road, London (the top most eye hospital in the UK, and the largest eye hospital hospital in the western hemisphere.)
Professional Interests
- Oculoplastics (ptosis correction, eyelid malpositions [entropion and ectropion both upper and lower eye lids]
- Eyelid surgery [blepharoplasties both lower and upper eyelid]
- Tear drainage operations
- Orbital surgery [including inserting false eyes, orbital wall fracture repair, tumours behind the globe etc]
- Surgical management of periocular tumours [basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas, with emphasis on curative tumour excision and satisfactory cosmetic outcomes, with emphasis on using vascularised skin flaps].
- Squint surgery, both paediatric and adult.
- High volume modern phacoemulsification surgery
- Neuro-ophthalmology (double vision, pituitary tumours, cerebrovascular accidents, impacting vision, raised pressure within the cranial vault, papilloedema etc).
- Glaucoma management including modern minimally invasive glaucomas drainage procedures, and traditional trabeculectomy with the use of anti-fibroticagents, and tube surgery.
- All ophthalmic lasers (save for laser for vision correction), that is laser to the anterior segment of the eye (for glaucoma and after cataract), and posterior segment lasers for diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions), injections into the back of the eye for macular degeneration etc.
