Autism Assessments Now Available
Providing comprehensive, medically informed autism assessments for ages 2-17, combining the expertise of a Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Community Paediatrician in a warm, supportive environment.
The multi-disciplinary autism assessments are available with Dr Paola Mirto, Consultant Community Paediatrician and Dr Kaj Gohil, Clinical Psychologist.
These are family focused, comprehensive assessments, which follow the NICE guidelines and include a parental interview, school questionnaire, a medical examination and the ADOS-2.
Following the assessment, the family will be offered a feedback session with a bespoke and tailored report, which includes recommendations and advice. Sleep advice can also be offered as required.
Dr Gohil and Dr Mirto have extensive experience in autism assessments for children with complex medical needs and children who experience anxiety with talking or meeting with new people.

How it works
INITIAL ENQUIRY
Contact our enquiry team who will take your details and put you in touch with Dr Gohil and Dr Mirto.
PRE-ASSESSMENT
You will be sent forms for you and your child’s school to complete, in order to ensure the understanding of your child’s history, needs and any specific concerns. Making sure an assessment is the right approach for your child.
COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT
The team will carry out an in-depth autism evaluation, including online parental interview, a face-to-face ADOS-2 child assessment, a physical examination (if required), and collaborative insights from both psychology and paediatrics.
FEEDBACK AND REPORT
Following your child’s assessment, there will be a 15-minute break, after which you can usually be given feedback on the day (in some cases further information may be required). After your appointment you will receive a detailed written report, including the outcome of the assessment and clear recommendations tailored to your child.
SUPPORT AND SIGNPOSTING
You will be guided through next steps, with personalised strategies and referrals where needed.
