In accordance with the requirements of the Competition & Markets Authority Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014 (the Order) the details of services offered by the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (The Trust) to our consultants practicing privately within the Trust are detailed below.

“High Value” Services

Consulting rooms are made available to referring clinicians or those that hold practising privileges at The Trust at a rate of £12.00 per hour or part thereof, which estimated by reference to the full cost including relevant allocated overheads to the private hospital operator of providing the relevant service, represents a fair market rate. Consulting rooms are made available on a non-discriminatory basis and on equivalent terms in accordance with the Order.

Accommodation for consultants’ medical secretarial staff is also made available at The Trust at a rental rate of £249.00 per month, which represents a fair market rate. Such accommodation is provided on a non-discriminatory basis and on equivalent terms in accordance with the Order.

Hot-desk accommodation for consultants’ medical secretarial staff is also made available at The Trust at a rental rate of £2.30 per hour or part thereof which represents a fair market rate. Such accommodation is provided on a non-discriminatory basis and on equivalent terms in accordance with the Order.

Medical secretarial services are made available to our consultant partners at a rate of £15.00 plus VAT per hour, which represents a fair market rate. Medical secretarial services are provided on a non-discriminatory basis and on equivalent terms in accordance with the Order.

Low Value Services

The following “low-value” services are also provided to referring clinicians with practising privileges at The Trust:

  • Services to ensure clinical safety such as in-house mandatory training and chaperones
  • Reception and administration services such as patient registration and admissions
  • Limited marketing support and inclusion in the “Consultant Prospectus”
  • Amenities such as refreshments and car parking

Financial Interests
Twine Associates Ltd. – owned by Dr. Tania Phillips and Prof. Christian Phillips – owns a Fotana laser machine and the Trust pays Twine Associates Ltd. a fee for the use of this machine.

Bourne Sportsmed Ltd. – owned by Dr. Michael Rossiter – owns a Shockwave Therapy machine and the Trust pays Bourne Sportsmed Ltd. a fee for the use of this machine.

Medical Skin Solutions Ltd. – owned by Dr. J. Holder – and UK Skin and Hair Care Ltd. – owned by Dr. E Toumbis – jointly own a medical laser and the Trust pays the two companies a fee for the use of this machine.

Corporate Hospitality
The Trust does not provide corporate hospitality related to private practice to its consultants.

Paid Advisory Roles
The Trust does not engage paid advisors related to private practice from within its consultant body.

Paid Service Arrangements
The Trust does not engage in paid services arrangements related to private practice with its consultants.

Educational Grants
The Trust does not provide educational grants related to private practice to it consultants.
